Norse Bylgja

The Norse Bylgja is a quality composite sea kayak with a greenland sea kayak inspired design all offered at a brilliantly cheap price. The Bylgja takes its name from the legendary character who takes the form of a wave, which is fitting for this sea kayak that is designed for sea touring, playing in the waves and multi-day expeditions.

The Bylgja is outfitted with two spacious hatches one in the bow and one it the stern, both are oval hatches with rubber hatch covers and bulkheads. A smaller day hatch positioned just behind the seat, again with a rubber hatch and bulkhead, along with a smaller day hatch on the deck to the front of the cockpit allowing all you're important gear to be in quick reach. The deck has deck lines and deck bungee's both bow and stern, while showing its greenland sea kayak inspired design Norse have put a bungee storage area just behind the cockpit for your norsaq or storm stick to be in easy reach. A 10 inch retractable skeg system is controlled from a simple slide adjuster just in front of the paddling position and will help keep you tracking along in a straight line when paddling conditions take a tricky turn. A compass recess for a Silva 70P compass finishes the deck outfitting of perfectly.

Comfort in the Bylgja hasn't been missed Norse have given this sea kayak a comfortable seat base pad & adjustable backband. Aggressive thigh braces are built into the cockpit rim to allow a great fit for all paddlers and slide lock foot pegs are easy to get into a comfortable position. This outfitting quality all lends itself to allowing you to paddle the Bylgja all day in comfort.

The V shaped hull and harder chines of the Bylgja give a playful edge when out in rougher conditions. These hard chines will also allow paddlers who are still building their sea kayaking skill set to quickly gain confidence when edging to turn or bracing. More advanced paddlers will notice just how responsive the Bylgja is and just how easy holding an edge is. At 17ft long with a great hull shape made of composite with aramid reinforcements down the chines and along the keel, multi day touring is a breeze in this quality brilliantly priced sea kayak.
