One of the best new features on the Palm Nevis Buoyancy aid is the Piggyback Safety Harness system, which has been designed to stop the buoyancy aid loosening and consequently riding up when the harness is released. This will help reduce the snag risk of the harness itself, by not using the harness as a tensioning strap for a tighter fit.

To keep paddlers safe and visible when out on the water, large reflective strips have been added to the shoulder straps which have been mechanically tested to withstand 3.2kN, with further load testing on the aircraft grade aluminium buckles and harness O-ring.

Keeping safety equipment close to hand is essential for whitewater paddlers allowing efficient rescues. In the Palm Nevis there is a multitude of storage with well thought out attachment points, this includes a cavernous front pocket with internal pockets and gear loops for storing slings and karabiners, 2 small Velcro side pockets, and a large zipped hoody style pocket that runs through the internal of the front of the buoyancy aid. A further 2 internal Velcro pockets are located on the inside of the front and back pads of the buoyancy aid which could store further safety equipment, or larger items in the rear pocket like maps or a hydration bladder. On the front of the Palm Nevis buoyancy aid is an easy access knife sleeve plus split d-rings which are designed to release under tension acting as a quick release point for any tethered equipment.
