The Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL is a high performance pedal drive sit on top that is feature packed making it ideal for kayak fishing. The efficiency of the PDL drive makes this sit on great for getting to your mark while still being a stable platform if you hook into anything big.

With a double-U shaped hull the sportsman PDL 120 is perfect for making you feel secure on the water, when pedaling along or moving around the deck to change lures or grab equipment. A EVA foam no slip deck pad to aid in traction and comfort when standing up to cast really shows the stability of this kayak - as long as you have steady enough sea legs. Designed primarily for fresh water fishing a sharpe bow line makes this hull shape not only stable but efficient and great in a straight line.

Providing the power the Sportsman 120 PDL has Old Town’s Award Winning PDL pedal drive system, which can be quickly and easily dropped through the hull and secured to the kayak using the Easy-Docking System. The Drive itself is a propeller driven pedal drive with instant forwards or reverse propulsion, which is ideal for paddlers looking to keep the kayak in the same place when taking photos or playing a fish.

To steer the Sportsman PDL 120 there is a large rudder, this has a hand controlled lever to the right of the cockpit for deploying or retracting the rudder. To the left of the seating system is a simple to use hand-steering lever, which is easy to find for quick steering adjustment whenever needed. There is also a large handle of the top of the rudder blade for deploying or retracting the rudder system when you are not sat the in cockpit. If not using the rudder system or for emergencies there is a very handy side mounted solid paddle clip can be used to hold your spare paddle.

Old town send the Sportsman PDL 120 packed with features, when designing this sit on top fishing kayak they really did think of it all. Including 1 flush mounted forward facing rod holder for stowing rods when landing a fish or changing lures, 2 flush mounted rear facing rod holder, ideally placed for trolling, they are out of the way but still easy to get to when you get a fish on. There are 2 x 18” accessory rails mounted forwards on either side of the cockpit. A large rear storage tank with over bungee's is ideal for crates, while a large oval front hatch and rectangular hatch provide access to the hull of the boat. The rectangle hatch placed just behind the seat is ideal for fish finder battery storage, or is great just as an additional place to hold your gear. Additional storage rubber mesh pockets either side of the cockpit, below the gear tracks are perfect for anything you like to have close to hand while you are on the water. Even the space under the seat has been utilised with a mesh style shelf pocket ideal for a tackle tray. A protected area in front of the PDL drive with a universal transducer mounting plate makes for simple routing of your electronics.

A great kayak isn't complete with out a superb seat and the Old Town Sportsman PDL 120 doesn't disappoint. The super comfortable Element Seating System is a breeze to get along with. Constructed from a a mesh style material for better drainage and added ventilation, great lumbar support and an easy adjusting backrest recline angle, you'll struggle not to be comfortable. The Element Seating System also adjusts the distance to the pedal drive via a shuttle track allowing you can get a comfortable pedal drive to seat distance no matter if you have shorter or longer legs.

Off the water the PDL pedal drive and Element Seating System can be removed from the kayak to keep the weight as low as possible to aid in moving and car topping. Thanks to its solid grab handles on both the front, rear and sides of the Sportsman 120 PDL either moving with 1 person, 2 people or a trolley isn't too difficult.
