Perception Essence
Perception Essence sea kayak is available in two sizes, 16 and 17 feet. The 17 has a touch more length and is ideal for average to larger paddlers, while the Essence 16 is ideal if your paddling style suits a slightly livelier and more nimble ride. A slightly smaller cockpit area also provides better contact for smaller paddlers with the outfitting and therefore faster and more accurate reactions to your body movements when turning, edging and giving the Essence the full beans.
The Essence, like the rest of Perception's range is made from high density super-linear polyethylene. This makes the Essence stiffer than some other plastic sea kayaks and makes the boat more durable and responsive at the same time.
With the Perception Essence advanced hull design it is solid at tracking yet still manoeuvrable. A strong V shaped bow and stern gives true directional stability and the defined chines further enhance control for smooth and predictable turns. There is also good secondary stability due to the low profile under the cockpit. Fitted as standard is a multi position retractable skeg or as an optional extra a rudder system can be fitted.
