The P&H Volan Composite Sea Kayak is perfect for both touring and sea kayaking adventures. Designed to incorporate new features all round and cut down the length slightly of a traditional expedition sea kayak. Being around 16ft the P & H Volan has an extended water line to enable great forward speed from every paddle stroke but the slightly shorter length retains the manoeuvrability. With attention to detail throughout the design P&H have ensured all those normal paddler niggles are less of an issue. A perfect example of this is the Skeg slider control has been moved up the deck from the normal side mounting position to ensure no annoying hand clashes as you paddle. The hull of the Volan has a mild V-shape with a flatter mid section, the mild V-shape offers good forward direction as well as straight line tracking, while the flatter mid section ensure a stable feel on the water. The bow of the Volan has taken inspiration from whitewater kayaks utilising the wave deflectors these help catch up lifting waters in choppier conditions and alleviate the need for an large amount of bow rocker. The stern of the hull has been given less rocker to ensure for a greater water line this translates into the speed and tracking allowing it to keep up with longer sea kayaks. The rounded chine areas of the Volan make this sea kayak super fun in waves and surf allowing it to be healed over which in turn disengage the bow and stern allowing for a much more playful and fun feeling kayak.

P&H have given both the Volan 158 & 160 loads of storage, this includes large front and rear storage hatches with internal bulkheads as well as a rear day hatch and bow mini hatch for smaller items you might want to get to more quickly. The deck has been well designed with storage in mind meaning there is plenty of areas on deck to store other gear and safety accessories. Spare paddles are an easy stow now thanks to the bow paddle shaft recesses which are perfect for taking split part emergency paddles. The foredeck of the Volan has been reinforced to ensure it can take a down wind sail and deal with tougher more windy conditions. The large cockpit makes it quick and easy for most paddlers to get in and out of this sea kayak.

Available in a range of 6 constructions all with varying weights from 15.5kgs to 26.5kgs, along with a range of differing durability options, this ensures there is a Volan for every occasion. The Volan can be spec'd in a range of colours with an array of stunning finishes as well as useful options like factory fitted keel tape, rudder, compass etc.
