P&H Scorpio II

The P&H Scorpio II is one of the most well known sea kayaks world wide, constructed of a tough triple layer CoreLiteX plastic the Scorpio II can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Its shallow v-shaped hull along with rounded chines running the length of the kayak offer that high performance on the water feel every sea kayaker wants. A good amount of bow rocker ensures the Scorpio II can rise and fall over waves while still giving the paddler a stable feeling creating confidence through every paddle stroke. Its swede form design means the widest part of the kayak is just behind the cockpit this is where the stability of the Scorpio II comes from but that is not all it does, it also allows for a free uninterrupted paddle stroke which in turn enables maximum efficiency.

P&H have given the paddler a choice of either Skeg or Skudder, both deploy easily from a cleverly placed control placed just in front of the cockpit right on the deck, this means no more painfully smashing your hands on the controls through the odd paddle stroke. The skeg works as normal dropping the blade into the water to help with straight line tracking when conditions are against you. The Skudder option however drops a skeg like blade into the water under the kayak, however this then activates the footpegs and allows for steering the kayak.

This sea kayak has been outfitted with everything that modern sea kayakers are looking for as well as the classic parts as well. The classic parts consist of a well sized rear storage compartment with oval hatch, a rear day hatch as well as the standard front storage area with round hatch, all of which are bulkheaded. A front easy access smaller storage hatch allows for important kit and snacks to be right in quick reach. A bow recess allows for a Silva 70P Compass to be installed (not included), a rear security point is handily placed behind the cockpit, while deck lines and bungee's are all round the deck making sure there is something right where you need it. To add to this classic outfitting P&H have added recesses for securing split paddle storage and a moulded in insert to take a kayak sail mast foot (not included).

The outfitting in the well sized cockpit is not only comfortable but also allows for the best connectivity. A buckle pull adjustable backrest means you can get that support for a long days paddling, while the well padded seat base keeps you comfortable. Aggressive thigh braces, hip pads and adjustable footrests ensure you can custom fit this to any size and shape of paddler.
