The Design Kayaks Awesome is a brilliantly agile sea kayak perfect for paddlers looking for a playful boat ideal on bigger waters and in the surf. Being a slightly shorter length sea kayak at only 15.5ft, the Awesome has great levels of bow and stern rocker this enables the paddlers to get the ultimate control and manoeuvrability which gives the well loved playful feeling - especially when playing in the Surf. A flatter mid-section to the hull offers great levels of stability whilst the pronounced front coupled with the hulls rocker keeps you from diving into the waves when surfing and keeps paddlers on track to get the best ride. Design kayaks have ensured the balance between manoeuvrability and buoyancy is seamless, this means in the hands of experienced paddlers the voluminous hull allows for a better on the water paddle both dropping into the surf as well as crashing out through the surf zones.
Constructed from strong 3-layer PE plastic the Awesome is ready for tough conditions and Design Kayaks have added extra material to the outer layer to ensure a rigid nature. Despite the rocker and agility features the Awesome Sea Kayak has it is still quick enough on the flat ensuring that even on those more subdued days you can still do some touring paddling.
A well thought out and spacious cockpit allows for easy entry and exit, but still allows for a great lock into the well placed thigh braces. An adjustable back band gives you the very best freedom of movement allowing a quick roll and for those using on bigger waters to be able to maximise the Awesome Sea Kayaks potential. For the best fit and to customise the Awesome Sea Kayak, Design Kayaks have outfitted with easy to adjust foot pegs as well as a seat base that can be adjusted for the ideal fit. A tighter fit around the hips allows for the contact and connectivity you need when using a playful sea kayak like the Awesome in the surf. A skeg that has its adjuster handily placed in easy reach just to the side of the cockpit helps with tracking when touring in changeable conditions. To finish off Design Kayaks have given the Awesome 3 separate bulkhead storage areas with plenty of storage space inside each, the coloured hatches, deck lines & bungee's which really set off the styling superbly and a metal security loop ensures your fantastic Awesome looking sea kayak stays safe when left alone.
