The Venture Canoes Ranger 162 Cruiser is lovely, stable open canoe that can be used on a range of fresh flat waters. The Ranger 162 has gained popularity with families as well as intermediate paddlers looking to do some multi day trips. With a hull shape that offers a relatively flat mid-section of the canoe, this enables the paddlers to feel stable in the Ranger when the boat is both moving and coming to a stop. While this canoe is stable and ideal for paddlers juts starting out, for paddlers looking to progress their skills the Ranger is capable of taking you to that next level. The slightly lower side (freeboard) ensure that if you are paddling open waters and the wind picks up, the Ranger 162 is far less effected and helps paddlers keep on course. For paddling as a family down local rivers and canals or for expeditions on a multi day excursion over lakes, lochs and broads the Ranger 162 can do it all.
The Venture Ranger Cruiser is outfitted perfectly, offering 2 wood webbed seats that are oiled and match the wooden carrying yoke paddlers are comfortable for many many hours out on the water. Bow and stern carry handles are built into the deck end plates which mount over the standard durable vinyl gunwales. The Ranger 162 is manufactured from Corelite plastic, this is a triple layer polyethylene with a foam sandwiched core and is a very tough construction.
For both family day tripping on calm fresh waters or for multi day paddling on more open waters the Venture Canoe Ranger 162 is a super option for growing confidence in new paddlers or developing them to the next level.
