The Venture Canoes Prospector 165 is Ventures take on the traditional open canoe Prospector shape, with its classic symmetrical hull which is smoothly rounded from left to right with a moderate rocker. The rounded hull gives paddlers the ability to easily edge the canoe which makes for simple turning, while the soft tumblehome to the top for the freeboard gives for an unrestricted paddle stroke. The moderate bow to stern rocker of the symmetrical hull gives the Prospector 165 a brilliant feeling when paddling on flat waters while touring, but Venture Canoes have retained just enough rocker to still allow the Prospector 165 to perform on moving whitewater's. The upturned ends not only give that super classic canoe look but it also gives a drier ride through choppier waters. Prospector canoes have always been popular and used for expeditions on both flat waters or through whitewater's and the Venture Prospector 165 open canoe is no different being well designed for use on these waters.
Constructed from the durable Corelite which is a triple layer plastic, offering great levels of stiffness from the polyethylene foam cored sandwich. The Venture Prospector 165 Cruiser spec is outfitted with 2 oiled wood webbed seats for great comfort when paddling all day, along with a matching oiled wooden carrying yoke. The seat hangers of the wood webbed seats are a metal hanger which are robust and sure to stand the test of time. Carrying handles are moulded into the bow and the stern deck end plates which make two person portaging, lifting and car topping easy and far more comfortable. Tough vinyl gunwales are a standard profile which ensures they are able to offer that high levels of durability.
The Prospector 165 Cruiser from Venture Canoes is a universal open canoe that is happy being paddled tandem or solo on either whitewater's or flat water touring, perfect for paddlers looking to expedition over multi days. For paddlers looking for performance, capacity and comfort this canoe is a great option.
