The Nova Craft Prospector 16 Fibreglass is a brilliant and very popular open canoe amongst all open canoe paddlers. This popularity stems from the most well known and well loved hull shape of canoe, known as the work horse of the canoe world thanks to its ability to go anywhere and do almost anything. The Prospector 16 is lovely and light considering its 16ft length and constructed in the home of open canoes - Canada, Nova Craft have manufactured canoes for over 40 years and are world renowned for their quality and attention to detail.

The hull shape of the Prospector 16 is so versatile it can been used across many different waters, from calm days out paddling on rivers and lakes, to heading down rapids and playing in their features. We would not advise using any laminate canoe on whitewaters where there is the possibility of impacts with rocks, these impacts can cause damage to even the strongest laminate constructions. The Nova Craft Prospector 16 fibreglass has a shape that is brilliantly manoeuvrable thanks to its end to end rocker and forgiving thanks to its arch shaped hull. The slightly higher than normal freeboard (side of the canoe) keeps everyone in the canoe feeling comfortable as it gives a real sense of stability, but when you get confident in the canoe doesn't stop you from heeling the Prospector 16 right over and getting the most out of the boat. This makes it perfect for a range of paddlers from those just starting out to those looking to increase their skill levels and take their canoeing to the next level.
